Recreation & Entertainment The West Ridge Road area offers all manner of restaurants, both locally owned and national chains; as well as locations which provide live entertainment. Greece Community Broadcasting, at 90.1, is not only a source of local pride but also offers frequent live jazz concerts. A local Wegmans is located on Latta Road. Parks More than 700 acres within the town of Greece are designed as parkland, with under 200 currently developed. Seventeen parks are maintained by the town, the major ones being Adeline Park, at 124 Armstrong Rd., with ball fields, disc golf, tennis and basketball; Badgerow Park, at 1120 Latta Rd., offers 66 acres with ball fields, tennis, basketball, trails and shelters; Barnard Park, at 410 Maiden La., has ball fields, a shelter and 15 acres of trails; Braddock Bay Park, at 199 E. Manitou Rd., features a lodge and pavilion, trails, a hawk lookout area and boardwalk; Basil Marella Park, at 975 English Rd., is complete with a shelter, a skate park, lighted tennis, basketball, soccer, football, and volleyball; Carter Park, at 1281 Long Pond Rd., features over twelve acres with a shelter and ball field as well as lighted basketball and tennis courts; Goodwin Park, at 225 Beechwood Park, has fishing, a canoe launch and access to Lake Ontario; Henpeck Park, at 2956 Ridgeway Ave., provides waterfront for fishing on the Erie Canal; and Sawyer Park, at 732 Long Pond Rd., has a creek, a shelter and trails. There are also bike trails that run through Greece - along Lake Ontario and the Erie Canal, and in between.
Annual Events The Greece Historical Society supports a number of activities including Art Shows and Lectures; the annual Relay For Life (an American Cancer Society benefit) is in June; and the Greece Performing Arts Society (GPAS), whose motto is "Bringing the Arts Home," provides frequent concerts. |
